Location: The Cleeve Prior Heritage Trust, Holding No. 17/336/0112, is based at Field Barn, Evesham Road, WR11 8JX, some .75 of a mile South of the centre of the village on the B4085, just opposite a row of Council Houses. PLEASE NOTE THERE IS NO TELEPHONE LINE AT THE TRUST. MOBILE PHONE REQUIRED.
Parking: There is car parking for 15 cars at the barn, the public transport bus service is by the hour from Evesham [5mile south] and Bidford on Avon [3 miles North]
Opening: is by prior arrangement only.
Resources: 18thC. Lias stone threshing barn. kitchen, indoor classroom, open wing that can be used for workshops, teaching. Toilet block. Enclosed Community Garden based on two levels both wheelchair accessible. 10 acres of old traditional Apple, Plum and Pear orcharding. A mature 40 year old wood of mixed species. Large pond with dipping platform Planned for 2019.
Possible Activities: Learning about Changing Seasons, Life cycles of trees and fruit, pollination, bug hunts, native woodland trees and coppicing, pond dipping activities. History of horticulture, apple picking, fermentation and cider making.
Funding: We currently have funding for School visits where clear links to curriculum can be demonstrated. Outside this Sessions are currently £30 for 2 hours, £50 for 4 hours and £100 all day.
Health and Safety Statement. Risk Assessment is carried out for each educational visit however schools are expected to carry out a pre visit and make their own risk assessment informed by that of the Trust. A copy of The Health and Safety Policy is available on site.
