Key Facts for Teachers

Six Miles from Evesham and three miles from Bidford on Avon, Cleeve Prior Heritage Trust is based at a 17 Century Field Barn with enclosed garden, indoor and covered areas, 10 Acres of fruit orchards, a woodland area with poetry walk and a historic grower’s hovel. There is parking for cars and minibuses with safe coach drop off by the car park entrance.

School visits are restricted to one school at a time and safe covid working practices are in place.

Every visit includes a welcome session which covers health and safety, an introduction to the Orchard and Healthy eating.  Children learn about fruit growing and harvesting and food distribution.

  • Habitats: Orchard, Woodland and Pond
  • History: 17 Century Barn and 20th Century Grower’s Hovel, Well Area
  • New Poetry Woodland Walk (Autumn 21)
  • Apple Pressing available in September and October

Risk Assessment and First Aid

Prior to your visit you must carry out a risk assessment and nominate the responsible first aider.  Teachers are required to read the industry code of practice relating to farm visits prior to the visit which will help you carry out your risk assessment. https://www.visitmyfarm.org/component/k2/content/2-healthandsafety

 

Cost – If we have grant money available your visit may be free of charge. If you don’t want to lead your own visit there are three programmes designed and led by an Experienced Forest School Leader fully risk assessed and Fees chargeable.
